Laser Tattoo Removal Aftercare & Healing

Proper aftercare is essential for a safe recovery and the best possible results. Your skin needs time to heal and your immune system needs support to clear away the ink. Follow these guidelines after each session.

Immediate care

  • Gently clean the treated area with lukewarm water and mild soap.
  • Apply antibiotic ointment and cover the area with sterile gauze for the first 24 hours.
  • Use a cold compress to reduce swelling and soothe discomfort.
  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and support your body’s healing.

Ongoing care (Days 2–14)

  • Cleanse the area gently and pat dry; do not scrub or exfoliate.
  • Keep the skin moisturised with an unscented lotion and wear loose clothing to avoid friction.
  • Avoid picking at scabs or blisters; let them fall off naturally.
  • Stay out of pools, hot tubs, saunas and avoid tanning or sun exposure until scabs are gone.
  • Once the skin has healed, apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to protect the area.

Long‑term care & healing timeline

  • Allow at least 6–8 weeks between sessions to let your skin heal and your body process the ink.
  • Eat a balanced diet, avoid smoking and limit alcohol to support immune function.
  • Missing or postponing sessions will delay your progress, so stick to your treatment schedule.
  • Surface healing usually takes 7–14 days, while deeper healing may take 4–6 weeks.
  • Scabbing and blistering can occur; this is normal as your body works to remove the ink.
